Cells respond to stress by reorganizing their plasma membranes into compositionally and mechanically distinct compartments. Using our custom MAxSIM super-resolution platform—originating from our 2016 Nature Communications work on epithelial integrity—we visualize nanoscale organization of channels, transporters, and receptors in living cells and relate these patterns to curvature, viscosity, and cortical coupling.
